The Firing of The Cannon!

We fired our cannons tuesday and it went over smoothly. To fire the cannon you fill the chamber with 1 pipette of ethanol and the you stick the ball in the mouth of the cannon, last you stick the lit wood splint in the hole in the top of your cannon and it fires. The ethanol releases gas which builds up pressure to eventually fire your cannon. We did though experience propblems since none of our cannons actually fired. The temperature did not support the gas laws so all we ended up with was burnt balls. O' well, we will try again in the spring!
